You can read and listen to all of their calls and text and all of that.
Would you ever do it or do you think that you have made them feel that they could come and talk to you about things instead of you having to spy?
Do you think it’s an invasion of privacy? Or do you think you’re entitled to know everything about them because they’re your child?
Would you rather have to do this or have them feel as if they could come to you themselves and talk to you about it?
My mom always respected my privacy. I talked to her about sex, drugs, drinking, etc. I knew that even if it were 3AM and I was wasted she would come and pick me up if my only other option was getting in the car with a drunk driver and that I wouldn’t have to worry about her punishing me for the rest of my life (She knew I was going to experiment and get drunk at least once)
I told her when I became sexually active and she put me on birth control. I told her because I knew she wouldn’t freak out.
Over all she had no reason to spy because she knew that if I were doing anything that she needed to know I’d come and talk to her about it with no worries about her getting mad.
@ ETHEL–I was that kid. My mom never spied on me. That’s when our relationship got close and she reassured me that I could talk to her without her getting mad. So I came to her for more things. And that’s when my behavior improved greatly.
